[schema type=”review” name=”Archemoron – Year of the Harvester” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2018-11-24″ ]Greek formatiom Archemoron formed back in 1999 by Stentor and Melikertiis. The name of the band at that time was Ancestor. Twenty years later the guys are ready for the release of their third full length album under this name. It is called “Year of the Harvester” and it is available now.
Black Metal is not that often coming from Greece, but what we have in our hands today is not disappointing. The guys are looking over the edge of the genre, bringing some other influences in there as well. Sometimes is appears a bit chaotic, but that chaos has it’s pro’s and cons. The album takes about 80 minutes of your time, so they are not serving you short and give you enough to listen to.
The guys bring their own face as a band with them, it blends with diverse styles and while they maintain some flow into it the often fast tempo’s are quite drive of the release. But while taking their time to come to the highlight, a song often is a bit longer than averagem the whole does not get boring. The songwriting is skillfully putting everything in the right space and that speaks for the guys.
They have been around for twenty years by now, but with this release they may have found themselves a release that brings them to new terrain. It awakened our curiosity and knowing that the guys have released it on their own makes us wonder where the whole may lead to in future. One to watch!
