On the second day of Easter a lot of pubs in Breda were showcasing local bands and band from the near region (POB Parade). In pub De Speeltuin Kayleigh Leith was playing her songs in front of a crowded place.
Tonight they would play acoustic, 2 guitars and a violin. Kayleigh is born in America and plays some sort of new country/pop and is an excellent singer-songwriter. Her sound is not at all too country but it has its influences, like the old Jewel before she became very poppy and Taylor Swift. However her music has a lot more to it then the easy pop songs, they lyrics tell stories and when Kayleigh sings her songs you see not only her enjoying herself on stage but you see some real emotions that shine through in her words. Sometimes she only needs to accompany herself with her guitar to built a great song. Many of her songs have a certain level of catchy-ness. To set herself apart from others in this genre is that Kayleigh has a rock-chick attitude that sometimes shines through because she can be very modest as well. Telling the audience about recording an album in New York with producer Eshy Gazit which you might know from Estelle, Gorrilaz and The Strokes. Besides her willing attitude and sparkling personality she has a great voice. Capable of singing very nice tunes and get the audience along the story she tells in her songs. The performance tonight was very good and I think we will get to see much more from her in the future!
