[schema type=”review” name=”Kim Myhr – Pressing Clouds Passing Crowds” description=”Label: Hubro” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2018-11-23″ ]Kim Myhr is not the kind of artist that goes for a mainstream approach we said when we received the album “You|Me” earlier this year. Right now we have another release on our desk. It is called “Pressing Clouds Passing Crowds” and it is available now.
Originally the music is written for a Canadian music festival where String quartet Quatour Bozzini , percussionist Ingar Zach and the words of poet Caroline Bergvall collaborate with Kim.
The voice is rather central compared to what we heard earlier from Kim Myhr. The actual words are giving some extra food for thought but they would never be this strong without the compositions behind them. A balanced co operation you could say.
The thought was to have this piece of music being six songs which are so strongly connected and hardly have bounderies that it is more like a complete story all at once. Will you get a hang of the whole it could be helpful to find some spiritual encouragement as it may not always be that straightforward. Not so down to earth, so perhaps a bit of pot may help connect.
So a psychedelic touch perhaps, the music is not something you come across often. The whole piece needs to be seen together, the music, the words, the artwork. A rather odd experience.
