Trontheim Jazz Orchestra is a quite productive one, They are up for release number twenty in twenty years of time. Why can’t all our favorite artists do that, you may think? Well I am sure that, that question could leas to interesting discussions, but for us now we are mainly focussing on this release right here.

Also named on the release: Ole Morten Vågan, bassist. His hands were onto the creation proces of “Happy Endlings” as well and with a tracklist full remarkable song titles we are amused at what comes to us. Opening rather wildly with “Vilken Låt Ska Vi Inte Spela Nu” the whole comes down at “The Sussex Pub In Essex (Or The Essex Pub In Sussex)”.

Maybe a bit too calm at some points, a bit cinematic in a way. “Me Tar Sand, You Jane” would remind me to Jungle Book scenes, they know how to keep it a bit more exciting. Many different sounds, a lot of tension building, the comprehension in these songs are making you smile.
Sometimes you start to wonder what binds these songs, why did they end up at the record together. “Un-Merry-Go-Round” is some darker, sinister one while after they go a bit more wilder again. What is that red thread? We have not quite found it.

Concluding all, we come to the conclusion that this is an exciting album with compositions that are daring and wild. Eight different tracks, eight stories that may or may not have been connected. Fans of the more technical music will enjoy this release a lot!
