Fear of Domination invited Tempelores to join them on their tour with the Deathstars. On the 27th they played in Klubi, Tampere (Finland)
Also along was the Finnish band Lunar Path. The band have been formed in 2006 and makes melodic music, a typical example of stereotype female fronted metal. As they started the audience got to see that their guitarist Jonas is seated while playing. It happened when the band had to jump out of the window while their rehearsal place was on fire. The first songs the band played were hard to follow as the vocals came out too soft in the mix, but it seemed to be better after a while. The band showed an active performance but had some troubles with warming up the audience, perhaps because their music is not that close to what Deathstars and Fear of Domination make. Nevertheless the band did do well, but made not much of an impression on me as being the next big thing, but that might be based on the fact that in my own home country we had a true hype of this music for it which seems to be over now and the overdose of these bands disappeared as fast as it came. Who knows what they will do in their own country and the rest of the world though. |
Fear of Domination is next and the Finnish industrial metallers, seemed to impress a little more people than the first band could do. The band had released their debut album “Call of Schizophrenia” (link) in 2009 and played on festivals like Metalorgy and the Tuska afterparty shows.
In the very beginning of the set there was mainly a whole lot of drum and bass to hear. After the second song, the balance seemed to be better which made the music better to follow. The show of the band appears to be aggressive and in company of the keys the band could set people to either dancing or head banging to whatever the likes of the audience might be. Comparing to headliner Deathstars this band brings more speed, more catchiness and more passion. With these guys there is more than darkness, yet that piece of hope and the kick to fight for the cause. Fear of Domination had some of their own fans in the audience as it seems and showed all others that they can set some sure good show. After about 45 minutes the set comes to an end already and the band leaves the stage after a well deserved applause. |
Deathstars come with a lot of attitude when it comes to stage appearance. They seemed to look all over the audience today, running around like chickens being chased by beasts. Chaos. That’s the perfect description of this concert. The Klubi stage is perhaps too small for them, that’s how it looks like. The sold-out venue was hot, sweaty and dirty, the band fits into it well. The latest album “Night Electric Night” dates back more than a year ago and this last one got represented quite well. For the fans, the familiar songs from other albums were also played.
In general the sound during their set was just shit, have seen that better with them and therefore the show might not have been the one you could not miss out on, but even though this might be a bit of a bummer, the atmosphere in the audience was very nice. All people seem to enjoy themselves and after more than one hour there are hardly any disappointed faces to discover. |
