27-02-2010 Dead By Sunrise

Supports: The Delta Fiasco; Venue: Huxley’s Neue Welt, Berlin (Germany)
By: Nina Mende

Another day, another city another show… of The Delta Fiasco and Dead By Sunrise. Tonight we were all in Berlin. The guys played at Huxley’s Neue Welt, an awesome venue looking pretty, like a big ball room. This show was sold out as well. The fans were waiting outside long before doors opened.

It was totally crowded in the venue, as in Cologne there were several people wearing Linkin Park merchandise. You could also tell who belongs to a Julien-K fan club, a Linkin Park fan club or to a Dead By Sunrise fan club. They had made flags for their bands which they had hung up either in the back of the venue where you could find bleachers and a balcony like area or up front in the pit, depending on where they stood. At 8pm sharp The Delta Fiasco entered the stage. With strobe lights and little other lights they began their performance. The audience watched them curiously wondering what that all was about. Not as enthused as in Cologne Berlin cheered as the vocals set in and it also took a little bit longer till the cheering grew louder after each song, which might have also been because the Berlin audience was not sure when a song was over. Either way, the audience liked it, just didn’t show it as loudly as I experienced it before. The Delta Fiasco played for half an hour with the little light and their gorgeous electro music that simply makes you go along. You have no chance but dance along. Energetic and powerful The Delta Fiasco performed on stage not standing still for long. The Delta Fiasco was amazing on stage. I hope I get to see them again soon. These guys definitely rock with their challenging performance that definitely makes you think and wonder.

Up next was Dead By Sunrise. This time hardly anybody was screaming for Chester. But the audience sang along to each song. To the already released as a single ones louder than to the others, but they all sang along. Also several in the audience danced along. Chester ran around like a whirl wind, singing his lungs and heart out, bending over the edge of the stage and for one of the later songs, he even went down to the pit, getting really close to his fans. The rest of the band was not running around too much, but that’s kind of hard with instruments as well. Ryan moved around on stage quite a lot as well. Brandon stayed on his spot. Fu and Elias had to stay where they were because their instruments – drums and keyboard – are not really made for running around with. But Elias definitely rocked out behind the drums as well. Amir moved around a little bit as well, but mostly staying on his side playing with the fans in front of him. The cheering was immense after each song. Everybody enjoyed the great show. After 45 minutes the band left the stage. But we called them back for an encore. Another two songs they played before covering Misfits’ “20 Eyes” again. Here more people went wild than did in Cologne. Everybody sang along terribly loud and rocked out. It was an awesome show. Too bad it was over that fast, but I am sure we will have them back soon.
