[schema type=”review” name=”Vanish – The Insanity Abstract” description=”Label: Fastball Music” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2017-09-29″ ]Vanish is a progressive band that doesnt want to commit to a genre. The guys formed in 2000 and are now releasing the album “The Insanity Abstract” which is their third full length album.
In the info the band tells about the album as something the dedicated a lot of work to. A sneer to the computer based material that comes out these days is passing by, so let’s see what that means for their own work then.
In the first few songs you can easily get disappointed. For if you had been reading what I read, you probably hoped to hear something more innovative. Not something that you have heard before already. There is just not much that sets this band apart from others. Good after a couple of songs you can hear a bit more of themselves getting into it.
Like most progressive albums, this one has quite some time to play, however the variation in the album is somewhat minimum. The last couple of songs were not really drawing us much longer.
The band has a good idea of what they want, their thoughts are nobel to bring it all live, but the whole needs a bit more spice to make it interesting. On the skills the guys are good, but the compositions could use a little more Vanish.
