Formula Fiction is a Death Metal band from The Netherlands. Their first release “Parody Reality” is out now.
These Dutch guys confidentially have taken control of their own fate and released “Parody Reality” completely on their own. It contains seven tracks about matters of live. The band has taken influences of hardcore and grind core into their sound, making it all brutal as hell. Instrumentally they deliver a package that stands quite steady, but vocal wise some question marks rise up. In the song “Blackmail” there comes a moment that brings you into a pig slaughters house where stressed pigs running around. At least the sound from that could be compared to what is heard in that song. Luckily this reference did not come back in all of the songs on this demo and although the vocals are never really stick out, “Parody Reality” has its positive points. Guitars are implemented quite well, perhaps a bit more of that would spice it all up.
Overall this is not such a bad release, it is clear that the band has some work to do, but the base is there and it is solid enough to built on to future stronger releases.
