Hellfueled – Emission of Sins

Releasedate: 29-01-2010; Label: Black Lodge
By: Sabine van Gameren

The Swedish Heavy Metal band is touring around for quite some years already and anno 2010 their fourth full length release “Emission of Sins” sees light.

Hellfueled comes in with a somehow cliché artwork. The music that comes from the speakers when you press play is not that cliché at all. Of course there are many recognizable sounds in their music, but nevertheless the band found a way to bring some original taste to it. What stands out first must be the vocals, the way that vocalist Andy Alkman let the words come out is delightful as it is a step away from the cliché. On the second hand there are the riffs that keeps it interesting. The heavy metal runs through it and is an pleaser for the fans of the genre. The band’s influences are clearly hearable, I don’t have to name them, it is obvious when you hear it but the fact that have given their own twist to it all makes this album a welcome surprise. Personal highlight must be the third song “I’m The Crucifix” that has the catchiness and kept me smiling for its playfulness. The Swedes brought an album that will be one that many keep on playing, nothing wrong with that! Keep it coming I would say!
