John Carrie and Moor Green is a folk rock formation that released their debut in 2007. Anno 2010 the band returns with their second album “Cleaning Air”.
John Carrie is from the streets, literally. That is not gangster in the way that it is because he started as a street musician. Not bad, as you see that he now teamed up with a band and released the second full length. In the cold winter weather it is now this album comes as a warm relief. The vocals of John give you a very welcome with the instrumental backing it all falls into place. It makes the music open and brings needed tempo changes whenever it is needed. Nevertheless there is a lot of drama in the songs that you feel along in your heart just as much as the heart where it came from. The fourteen tracks on the album are never getting boring as some experimenting is there. “Aquarium Management” with its 44 second length makes me smile each time I hear it. Straight after that you get back into the more serious work. The fact that the up tempo songs and the down tempo songs are mixed up in the track list make the album one to finish. If too many of these moody songs would be next to each other it might have been completely different though.
There is plenty of diversity in this album and will be big hit on the dark, quiet Sunday afternoons as well as it is calms you after a rage.
