Dead Cross is a Hardcore Punk formed in 2015. The band is releasing their first album which is self-titled.
Do not judge a cd by it’s cover… they say. But having some interesting to start with certainly helps. Dead Cross understands this concept. As dark as the music is, as much do you need light to read what i written on the sleeve. But then again, simply running your fingers over it will give you also some joy for your senses.
So safe to say, the release is not just an audio experience, there is more to it if you put some effort in. And this also extends to their music. It’s Hardcore Punk, sure with some layover to other genres, but hell let’s tag it then. A proper tempo, a severe vehemence and the words are not taking you to the dance either. The guys have plenty to say. And even though it is one you will listen a couple times before hearing all of it, you soon realize that this is organized chaos. It all has a purpose and then in the end it comes together in a fine release. This is their strength. To create chaos in such a way that you realize it is well thought and brought with the qualities we could expect from a line up like this makes that we are listening to an album sticking out far above the average.
Dead Cross did it. A debut that will probably become a classic. Nothing but class. But hey… if we do have to find a remark… here it is: Way too short!
