As a 6 year old at his annual school sports day on the outskirts of Manchester, Wayne not only came first in the race around the school complex, he refused to stop running and completed several extra laps. That kind of intensity and persistence never left him. After releasing his debut solo album “The Long Goodbye” he immediately began work producing the new Bela B. album Code B. After some furiously productive months in Hamburg he returned to Berlin, the city he now calls home, earlier this summer. Immediately he signed to the fledgling BMG Rights Management label and set about recording new material with barely a pause in his step. His new label bosses were so impressed by the first song he demoed, they fast tracked an album release into their schedule and Wayne found himself back in the studio recording his follow up album.
The first song “I’m So Beautiful” has the sound of rain in the intro before the passionate and touchy rock music begins with full power. The voice of Wayne is soft and touchy. The lyrics are deep if you listen to them closely. Also you can hear a lot of emotion put into this album. Catchy melodies and beats find an easy way into your memory. “Hallelujah” is very catchy as well, it has a little bit of a darker side than the song before but during the chorus you can see the clouds disappearing and the sun shining even in this song. Very melodic and easy going the album goes on without you even realizing it. When listening to “Undercover Psycho” you catch yourself drifting off without having any particular thoughts. Somehow this album seems to clear your head. Relaxing and freeing Wayne Jackson takes all the weight in the world off your shoulders. It is a wonderful album, one you should not miss out on.
