[schema type=”review” name=”Descendants of Cain – Conversations with Mirrors” description=”Label: Echozone” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2017-04-21″ ]Descendants of Cain is a London based group making Rock music with some Goth influences in there. They date back to the late 90’s and eight studio albums have seen light. Anno 2017 they return with album number nine, “Conversations with Mirrors” is out now.
At first I thought something was wrong with the disc, the sound was so distant and soft and had no impact at all, some headphones to dig into it and you discover that that is exactly what you need to do. Dig into the intimate world of Descendants of Cain. A dark Singer/Songwriter approach, mixed with that goth and the rock is what you will hear. The melancholy, the drama will come so much closer when you allow yourself to become a part of the music. It takes a little effort, but when feeling the bass coming through you, the melodics driving you to the atmosphere the band intends and the vocals speaking the words you may or may not want to hear but regardlessly guide you.
“Conversations With Mirrors” brings something you do not hear every day and will bring a great experience to you. It requires you to put some open mind to become part of it, perhaps you may feel yourself even more part of it when seeing it live, but this album is worth every penny for them who wish to feel this darkness.
