Belgian formation Beyond the Labyrinth makes Melodic Hardrock and has been touring around already, playing with the bigger names already. This year the guys release their fourth album. It is called “The Art of Resilience” and is available now.
The band has chosen to include a variety of vocalist to guest on their album which creates a quite various release. A bit too much maybe, sometimes it is hard to find the red thread between them. It would have been interesting to have a vocalist return in other songs as well so the whole is brought together.
The balance between the more powerful songs and the ballads is well. You don’t get overdosed on either and with the qualities of the band members you often found yourself at focus on either ones of them. Whether it is the remarkable “Carry on” with it emotional touch or the more chaotic “Fall of the Raven”, which has great vocals, all the songs are interesting on its own.

There really is not much that this album does not give you. It is just a pity that sometimes it feels a bit more like a sampler, a collection of songs that have not too much in common. But at least it is filled with quality songs.
