Pandemia is a Death Metal band from Czech Republic. The band released three albums and a DVD before “Feet of Anger” saw light.
The band formed in 1995 and has gained some success through the years, building up their name to become one of the leading bands of the scene in their country. Expect from this band to bring Death metal influenced by old school Thrash, some experimental attempts to make a change and studiously searches for diversity. This last two remarks come with a slight lack of lithe, making the album bit irregular in sound. The band seemed to derail the music in such a way that you are from the first to the last song in such different places without feeling a connection to the rest. This does not tell you to leave the album in the store, not at all, as the band delivers quality wise good songs. Hear the vocals being raspy, quite Thrash styled and the drums blasting through the sound make this music perfectly bearable. A little change in song order might have been a good idea, the album starts quite dark but get’s lighter with each song. If the album would have contained a couple more songs we might have ended with roses and hearts.
The band has clearly a good perception of songs, but on this record there could have been made a lot of different decisions. The ones they choose this time did not convince me completely, but for a next one, I’ll give it the benefit of doubt.
