[schema type=”review” name=”Enemy of Reality – Arakhne” description=”FYB Records” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2016-10-23″ ]Symphonic Metal band Enemy of Reality is still quite a young band, started in 2013. Yet, the band is ready for the release of their second full length album. It is called “Arakhne” and it is out now.
The Symphonic part is truly in the major in this release, be prepared for that when choosing to listen to this. From the beginning on it seems a bit overwhelming even. Vehemence is there, but it simply gets pushed away by the rest and maybe the story told is more important than the backing body that it should have to support it. Well, it stands and when you look at the symphonic part you could say that that is at least executed very well. Well thought and brought with flair. Just that bit of modesty is missing. Vocally the band has Iliana. A strong vocalist that has a lot of power in her. Surely lifting up the whole and strengthen the story.
To get the most out of this release, you find yourself listening to this album a couple more times than you initially thought. It’s a whole lot of music that comes to you and to gain the whole, you simply have to go back and hear it again. Not an easy one, but surely with beautiful symphonic parts!
