The Beast of The Apocalypse – A Voice From The Four Horns of The Golden Altar

Releasedate: 19-10-2009; Label: Transcendental Creations
By: Sabine van Gameren

The Beast of The Apocalypse is a band from the Netherlands making Black Metal in its extremes. The band formed in 2009 and “A Voice From The Four Horns of The Golden Altar” is their debut album.

This young Dutch band created a record with raw and hateful songs. Going for just the sound brings you in a overview modus, which let you miss out on the most eccentric elements. Filthy guitars, preaching stories of the underworld, with cracking vocals bringing a cold atmosphere. Although there is plenty noise to hear at the same time, it is not the most comprehensive riffing included, in general all instruments go back in time to a period where Black Metal like this was all over the scene. The album contains six songs, but the band gets to the point quickly and after that there is not much more. A bit more variation would have kept the attention to the end, while now it is likely you are done with it after number four.
Nevertheless, the band have set down something to grow, the start is there and it will be there, for now this album is perfectly to listen on your dark Sundays, but it won’t be a winner in the year lists.
