84 Day Syndrome vs Gluefactory – Antonio Villaraigosa Golden Expressway

Releasedate: 27-11-2009; Label: Long Beach Records
By: Nina Mende

84 Day Syndrome is a solo project by Randy Bradbury of Pennywise. He wrote all songs himself and also recorded each instrument himself. Gluefactory is another side project by Randy, but with an actual band founded long time ago. This album is a split CD of both side projects by Randy.

The music is pure punk and reminds a lot of Pennywise, at least the 84 Day Syndrome.Fast and kicking it hits you, but not in an aggressive way, but more in a justice and rightful way. Even when sitting on the couch you will rock along to the sounds of Randy Bradford. Extremely fast is the song “Late Again”, it sort of spreads hectic trying to make up with the lost time. Gluefactory has a different sound, a little different from pure punk but still very thriving. The songs are still fast and kicking. There are more outstanding guitar riffs in that part of the CD.

A very interesting split CD. Punk songs are known to be short and fast, so it happens that this album is only about half an hour long. It is still a great album though. Time to press replay.
