David Bowie is a legend. He has been in the show business for more than fifty years, being a huge impact to many artists and genres. David Bowie was not only known for his music and his ever changing and reinvented style, his alter-ego Ziggy Stardust, but also for his acting career. On David Bowie’s 69th birthday he released his twenty-fifth studio album. Two days later he unfortunately passed away due to liver cancer. Leaving behind his work and this one last album.

David Bowie’s final album is called “Blackstar” and comes with seven tracks. It does not seem like a lot, but these seven songs last for more than forty minutes. And leave you behind in thoughts, speechless and impressed. Maybe even dazzled. David Bowie has alway created a unique art, experimented with styles and therefore sounded unlike anything you have ever heard before. And this also continued for his final album. Like an ode to his live, “Blackstar” has impressive vocals that make you wonder if he already meant it as a farewell. Even if this was not his intention, it sure became a farewell now. Especially the title track is absolutely impressive. Wandering between mysterious melodies of a different world and indie rock, the song lasts for almost ten minutes and needs every bit of your attention. The music on “Blackstar” is a little sad and almost final. But these seven songs will last an eternity.

“Blackstar” is carrying the sad passing of David Bowie, and the lyrics also let you wonder. But it sure is an impressive masterpiece of art. David Bowie reinvented himself yet again for this album. Honor it with all your attention and let David Bowie take you away, into his world or space, for these seven songs. “Blackstar” is out now.
