[schema type=”review” name=”Skeptical Minds – Omega Thanatos” description=”Label: F.Y.B. Records” author=”Sabine van Gameren” pubdate=”2015-10-08″ ]Skeptical Minds is a Belgian Electro/Industrial formation which formed in 2002. The band released several cd’s and a live DVD and in 2014 they released a live album, which has been recorded at the Metal Female Voices Fest. They now return with a brand new studio release called “Omega Thanatos”.
The album is a varied one, the songs that are to be found here are giving you a different touch each time. Sometimes a bit more gothic, sometimes it is the electro that gives it some extra. The vocals are sometimes a bit disturbing, not the strongest part of the band. If you are not into them, the album may become a bit of struggle to go through. Yet, there are plenty of elements to enjoy further as they don’t stick to the most common setup.
The album seems made for the experience. It is not only the music that brings you this, but with the album there is also a comic book that adds to the story and gives insight in what they are up to.
Skeptical Minds gives their fans a full experience. They go beyond the music and the story and make it visual in various ways. With the release of their live album you could sense this eye for the visual aspect already, this release underlines this even more.
