Venue: Nachtleben, Frankfurt (Germany)

Tonight we were at Nachtleben to see 5Bugs, a band from Berlin playing rock. The first band we only got to watch half way, but they played rock as well. Somehow it was not catchy at all, nor passionate. It ended up only being noise, background noise.
Surprisingly the club was very crowded even though it was a Monday night. As 5bugs came on stage everybody was cheering. The audience came closer to the stage and the gap that has been there before, disappeared. Everybody was dancing and rocking along to the 5 bugs from Berlin who were always up for a joke, talking a lot with the audience. It felt like the audience and band had been friends for long. There was a familiar atmosphere in the club and not the band – audience feeling that you have at some shows. The guys played old and new songs off all albums. The guys couldn’t stand still for a second, but neither could anybody in the audience. Everybody clapped, sang and moved along to the catchy rocking tunes. The show lasted for about an hour plus encore. But it felt a lot shorter. One song was played by the guitar player only, everybody else had left the stage, and for another song the singer grabbed an acoustic guitar and played all by himself. He’s got a great voice that definitely touches you. It was a great show of the guys and I hope to see them more often than only twice a year. |
