Andy Gunn is a blues guitarist from UK. He is currently releasing the album “Miracle of Healing”.
“Miracle of Healing”, a title that came from live as it is said the album has been written in a hospital. A life full of struggle is the cause of the album being a bit in a dark mood. But leaving the medical thing behind and purely looking at the music, we must be fair. Often we felt the lack of excitement breaking us in the album. Sure, the guitars are having a nice place here, the playfulness is there but it rarely gives us the feeling we have not heard it before. That being said the songs are all much alike in its atmosphere, not creating any highlight into the album, but a flat list of tracks. Never the spark turns into something passionate.
Andy Gunn try to puts his personal experience into the album, but if you have not read them before listening the album, the album is just one of many. The personality does not come through it. “Miracle of Healing” does not lack the skills, mr Gunn can play, but it is a pity that it does not raise above that. We just don’t feel it.
