There is not much about Melampus to be found when not speaking Italian. The duo has made an album called “Hexagon Garden” that may change a bit to that.
The Italian duo is not sharing too much about them. It’s a wave project that exists out of Francesca Pizzo that puts her voice to the project as well as playing bass and Angelo Casarrubia that adds the rest. An interesting playfield is created but it are the soft, psychedelic vocals of Francesca that draw our attention most when you start listening to the release. Combined with the music you could hear some 70’s psychedelic influences but more of a reference could be Jess & The Ancient Ones that have made themselves quite a name recently. Though, this release not just that psychedelic piece, the band mixes it with a dark indie touch which gives it a much more modern twist.
Then coming together with a quite clear production it is really an album that gives a 2015 project the shape it should have.
“Hexagon Garden” is an album you could listen in ecstasy. It doesn’t speed up a lot and leaves you in a dreamy world. An interesting release that mixes styles in such a way that it becomes something you don’t hear every day.
