Cinema Bizarre is a German band from Berlin created by their record label in 2007. They started as Glam rock, Goth rock with some New Wave influence. Later the New Wave presence was increased with Pop music elements, now merging into synthpop. They released their debut album in 2007. Now their second studio album is released called „ToyZ“.
The album is surprisingly good. The songs are really catchy and easy to sing along. Some also make you dance along quite a lot. “I Came 2 Party” for example is a perfect dance club song, totally thriving. Some songs are partially in French. There are quite many songs on this album. The rhythm gets you going along easily. The booklet contains the lyrics and includes info if each band member. The melodies of the songs are mostly dreamy and surreal. When listening to the music you unlikely think of it as being Cinema Bizarre with all the make-up and the Japanese looks. Therefore I was quite impressed. I guess the guys have grown up now. The album artwork is a mix of old school and funky spacey stuff.
