The Norwegian synth pop band was back in Germany for the weekend, and the weekend only. Sunday for a festival, and Saturday for a club show in Hanover. And that’s where I went to.

The fans were waiting in front of the venue hours before the show began. Most of them wore Apoptygma Berzerk shirts, or even had some of their logos and the band name tattooed. Tonight the original keyboarder Geir was back with the guys. The venue was packed and it got very humid quite fast after everyone had gotten into the venue. The fog the guys used on stage made the air in the venue even thicker and warmer.

Apop played for almost two hours. Playing all their hits including a few new songs they brightened everyones day and night. You could tell the band enjoyed playing together once again, especially in this line up. Everything seemed to run so smoothly. The joy and satisfaction infected the audience. The fans were singing and dancing along to each song, enjoying every moment. Cheering out loud after each song, some were even getting teary eyes. Stephan and the guys were playing with the audience with each song. It was a blast. It felt like a long overdue family reunion. Oh what a night!
