Grailknights is a melodic death metal band, with Viking metal influences, from Hanover. Founded in 202 they have now released their sixth full length studio album and named it “Calling The Choir”.
The new release comes with ten songs plus a bonus track. All songs are not only sung by one singer but backed up by the entire band. The music on “Calling The Choir” is somewhere between metal and medieval. There is no growling voices nor heavy guitar shredding. More like a marching band walking forward on the battlefield. This album gives you a feeling of belonging to a strong group, empowering you to keep going and planting hope in midst your soul. “Calling The Choir” is an easy going album as it quickly fades into the background while listening to it and yet continuing to plant these emotions. The band itself likes to see themselves as a sort of super hero group which also explains the album cover. The cover shows each character in a comic hero style. Quite amusing if you think about this and listen to the Viking metal. A must have for all fans of medieval metal and Vikings. For everybody else it is nice to check out. So give “Calling The Choir” a listen. The new Grailknights album is out now.
