Releasedate: 05-10-2012; Label: Echozone
By: Sabine van Gameren
German band Moonrise has its base in Hamburg. The guys make wave rock and do this for several years by now. They already have quite some releases on their name and the album “Ten Flowers For The Shade” came out earlier this year. This was only in digital form, but in cooperation with Echozone the band is now releasing the album as a physical product also.
The band has a calm start with the track “In Die Ferne”. But soon the tempo comes up a bit more and there are some more keys introduced to make the whole danceable. Some tracks are in German but others are in English. What comes to notice is that the vocals are not always the most steady you could expect. Here and there it is a bit disturbing while thinking this could have been done better. But while going through the track list the urge to focus less on that comes as the instrumental part becomes equally dominating in their tracks. The album closes with a remix of the track “Bataillon” by Solar Fake, which adds a little spice to it all. According to the band the fans will enjoy the music live especially. Kind of seems to be a band that makes you want to dance rather than having this for some background music while working.
