An interesting prog evening was up on the schedule for this evening, four bands would play, but since they started rather early we did not make it in time to see enough about the first band to speak of it.

The second band performing was the Norwegian Airbag, a formation that starts with pretty calm guitars, that have the tendency to slowly built towards a highlight. Then, they are accompanied with a singer that has a little something in his voice that you either hate or love. Typically Pink Floyd in the way they work, the band members were actually all playing in a Pink Floyd tribute band as well, so this obvious influence make sense. The guys are not really trying to bring too much performance into it all and let their music do the talking, maybe not the most exciting show but simply pleasant to listen to.

The Enid was a nice surprise of this evening. With much interesting instruments this band created a true 70’s feeling with intense music. Some remarkable musicians they are, coming from United Kingdom and ready to make a show that many will remember long time. Under the lead of Robert John Godfrey (piano) this band performs a couple of long and very sophisticated compositions. They put attention to the smallest details, every second is filled with the depth of some sounds lining up, as small or bombastic as they may be. The band plays 1,5 hours and time runs short for them in the end, it feels like you are time travelling with The Enid, back to the 70’s and relive the feeling right now. A show that is captivating and interesting every second. The addition of a young guest vocalist may have brought you to question a bit, but the guy is keeping himself up very well. A charismatic act with a Freddy Mercury personality within does bring up that excitement to another level. The Enid gives a show you don’t want to miss out on!

The German progressive rock formation RPWL is headlining this evening. Two hours are scheduled and the venue is filled for them. Started in 1997 the band gained a good reputation through the years, seen on the loyal fans here tonight many have been following them for quite some years already. The band just released their new album “Beyond Man And Time” and they played these tracks here tonight to promote it. Some of the songs are made to be a hit and while vocalist Yogi Lang is singing you see him in different outfits very often. This makes the meaning of the words come alive and the show entertaining to watch. Yet it is not just Yogi who takes the show on himself. Some shadowplay is brought into the show and that is when guitarist Kalle Wallner and bassist Werner Taus make use of their moments to shine. Besides the new tracks the band ended the party with a few of the classic hits like “Roses” and “Breathe In, Breathe Out”. A nice collection of tracks and a show that is a gift for all the fans, two hours of show and still being entertaining is not working for each band, but RPWL succeeds here.
