Tonight we had a special guest at Nachtleben in Frankfurt: Icon of Coil. Icon of Coil is a Norwegian electronic music band. The band was established as a solo project in 1997 by Andy LaPlegua who was joined by former Sector 9 (now Moonitor and Zombie Girl) band mate Sebastian Komor to perform live. With the release of “Shallow Nation”, the band’s first single, Komor joined full-time.

The club was filled with many old and new fans. After two opening acts it was finally time for Icon of Coil. Excitement among the fans. It had been three years since Icon of Coil played in Germany and now they even tour again. Only as a duo Icon of Coil entertained the audience. Andy and Sebastian were joking around on stage, having a lot of fun playing the Icon of Coil songs. Just like in the olden days. To all our surprise the guys announced something special: Icon of Coil will record a new album. Yes, you read right. Amazing. Icon of Coil played all their old hits, Andy kept running back and forth on stage, like he is used to when performing with Combichrist. The fans danced to the music and cheered out loud. It was so great to see Icon of Coil again. All these old memories fans and band share from way back when. What a wonderful evening with exciting news.
