Tonight in DB’s the Italian psychedelic rockers of Strange Flowers and a local support band.

Good, it was not really a crowded evening which may be is a bit of a pity, but on the other hand the local support act The Philistines is not really giving any reason why it should have been more filled. A handful of family and friends were around. Their start was just horrendous. It was very basic and everything you have heard before in a better version. And then of course it is kind of shameful when even your friends and family don´t bother to applaud anymore. Must be said, during their set they found their way to better songs that brought a little more excitement but unfortunately this band did not really entertain people.

Much better, but also suffering from not having many people around to watch the show were the Italians of Strange Flowers. The band got a some good and interesting riffs which draw the attention right away. What a contrast with their support! The balance within this group is quite interesting as well. Drums remain quite upfront in their sound while you wouldn’t always expect that to be. Even though Strange Flowers had little audience, the band fulfilled their set and towards the end some more curious people from the rehearsal studios in the building dropped in as well. The video art that the band is using adds an extra dimension to their show, having some butterflies going on in hypnotizing tempo´s in combination with the guitars going a little deeper at that moment had a nice effect. Hopefully next time the band has some more audience, they played an interesting show even though it was just an almost `private´ gig.
