Julien-K is a music group that began as a side project for electronic music created by Amir Derakh and Ryan Shuck from Orgy, with the later addition of Elias Andra, and Anthony ‘Fu’ Valcic. Their debut album “Death to Analog”, which was mixed by Tim Palmer, was released on March 10, 2009 in the U.S., and later on March 5, 2010 in Europe. The album was initially planned to be released on February 17, 2009, the date the United States switched from analog to digital television. Julien-K’s webpage was launched in the summer of 2003 with initial demo versions of songs “Look at You”, “Kick the Bass”, “Someday Soon”, “Everyone Knows”, and “Technical Difficulties”, the latter of which was later featured both in the film and on the soundtrack from Michael Bay’s 2007 Transformers. Up until 2007, the webpage said “Coming Soon.” In June 2010 Ryan Shuck announced that Brandon Belsky had left the band, to be replaced by long-time collaborator Anthony ‘Fu’ Valcic. Elias Andra left the band as well, due to personal reasons. It is open whether he will return or not.

Now Julien-K’s second album is released called “We’re Here With You”. The new album comes with ten brand new tracks for the dance floor and your living room. Catchy tunes, funky beats and great lyrics. All meant for you to get stuck in your head, easily memorize and sing -or hum – along. Slow and fast songs are combined on this album. Emotional lyrics enter your mind and soul when listening to “We’re Here With You”. Like ying and yang Julien-K combine bright and dark sounds to a perfect unison of melodies and sounds. Ryan’s amazing voice adds the final touch to this masterpiece of artwork. Simply amazing. The artwork of the booklet is very creative and is definitely worth to check out and to take a close look at. Beige background and hands, as silhouette, filled with faces and shades. Also other images fill the pages, whether it is wolves or a human heart with roses blooming in the arteries, bones and of course a picture of the entire band complete the booklet.
