Three bands would play in Semifinal, Helsinki tonight. At the time I walked in the first band just started a few seconds ago.

The first band of the night was Toyta Backseat. They did not have too much fans with them and the venue was quite empty still. People rather stayed at the bar. Music wise it was not too bad though. Pop rock, maybe a bit too soft. The break through hit has not been written yet, or at least has not been played. It might be a matter of time, but this band should find their own sound a bit more. Now, the whole setlist sounded too much of the same.

A rougher sound came when Novembersoundsbetter entered the stage. They have some grunge influences and the raw, alternative approach brought the venue a bit more alive. The action here attracted a bunch of people to come a little bit closer and the atmosphere certainly started to look like something. Also for this band counts that the setlist might need an injection of variety though. I liked seeing this band in the way that they were refreshing and rougher. Than heard earlier this night.

Lucy Was Driving was the last band of the night. This band wins when it comes to catchiness. A lot of international students were dancing on their music right in front of the stage during their set. This typical pop music falls well here tonight. The band leaves the stage for a while when vocalist Otso picks up his acoustic guitar and brings us some sensitive music. Nice, but it seems like the audience preferred the danceable songs more for now. Lucy Was Driving is a band that is visible growing and we might hear of them soon as they keep going on.
