Joensuu is band from The Netherlands, they started back in 2005. Recently they released their EP “In This World”.
On the 26th September Joensuu released their EP with a releaseparty in waterfront café. (Review) The name Joensuu is a small city in Finland, where singer Bjarne has his roots.
To give a little help to people who like their music they gave a little direction on how to pronounce the band name correctly on the artwork of their EP. It says: Jo – en – Suu. Music wise, they sound a lot like Lost Soul Division and Rubik. (Both Finnish bands) Also influences of Lapko are hearable. Melodic riffs and emotional sounds are all over their music.
“In This World” contains four songs. It starts of with “Love to Spend” which has a quite catchy rhythm and is easy to pick up. “Aircastles” is way less dreamy as you might suspect. There is way more power in this song then the first one. “Like A Queen” is a typical romantic song while the EP closes with the more powerful “The Promise”. This one is also my personal favorite on the EP.
“In This World” is an EP where the band can be proud of. You hear a lot of catchy melodies on here and therefore they showed that they do have a lot of potential.
