Venue: Tavastia, Helsinki (Finland)

The last show before I’d leave Helsinki for two weeks was taking place at Tavastia: Indica was playing there tonight. I saw a music video of them once on the Suosikki DVD. The fairy like style and the fairy like music somehow got me, so as I saw that they played at Tavastia while I am still there, I so had to go. Indica sing in Finnish and are girls only.
The club was totally crowded long before the band began playing. There was no moving back or forth possible. Once you stood somewhere you better stayed there. Getting through was totally hard. Indica had a swing on stage and many instruments. As they entered the stage everybody at Tavastia went crazy, jumped around to the fairylike music and forgot everything else. The girls on stage got everybody captivated with their performance and their music. Not just because they were pretty and wore great and fitting outfits but also because the music just didn’t leave you with another choice but getting into it. Everybody sang along. The light was gorgeous and just giving you a deeper impression of that unreal fairytale forest where nothing bad would ever happen. Jonsu (the singer) did not only play violin and sing, but also played several other instruments. Really amazing woman. The performance and the girls seemed so close to the crowd as if it belongs together and always has. The audience was not standing still for a single second, eyes locked towards the stage not to miss anything. During one song there were some sound problems but that didn’t matter at all. Indica played songs off all albums. After a little more than an hour it was done. But the fans insisted on an encore which the band played: 3 songs. The very last was totally slow and they had bubbles coming out of the sides of the stage. So beautiful I almost had tears in my eyes. An odd concert closing yet totally amazing.
If you ever have the chance to catch Indica live, do it. A great band with a great show, you will love it.
