Venue: DOM, Helsinki (Finland)
By: Sabine van Gameren
Poisonblack is a rock/metal band from Finland. The band is currently awaiting their fifth full length release and gave a show in DOM, Helsinki (Finland) .
Of course the expectations for the new album brought many people to the venue, DOM is a renewed version of the old venue called Dantes. It’s even more gorgeous and metal glamorous than before. It does give more space for more fans to enjoy the concerts of their favorite act and Poisonblack could do perfectly with some extra space because it is quite crowded. Ville Laihiala and his band mates have built a loyal fan base and it is showing off tonight. The guys have decided to bring some of their most intense songs. Also some new songs are played which fit perfectly in line with those songs that the band have played from the previous albums. Seems like that this will be an important element in “Drive” to be released at the end of April. Take for example “Invisible” from their last album “Of Rust And Bones”. That is what to expect. But of course an album can’t be filled with that only and so they played also their new single called “Mercury Falling” which is more up tempo and is today played in their encore together with some of their previous singles. |
The audience responded quite well on the whole show and were singing along to “Mercury Falling” as if it is out for a long time already, which in reality is only out for a few days by a youtube preview placed on the bands website. Seems like Poisonblack have won the hearts of the fans with it already and this show was a good one for those curious minds that can’t wait until the next album comes out.
