Releasedate: 24th of January 2024 Label: Massacre
The heavy metal trio “The RODS” is not far away from core of the genre. Reason is, the band was found in 1980. Forthcoming 45th anniversary provides “Rattle The Cage” record and tour ahead.
The retrospective record that shows any angle of heavy metal and hard rock. Ten tracks represent all the good samples of metal era.
Choosing the album for review, my decision stand with “Rattle the cage” because of titled-track which is pure hard rock. However, after listening the whole album I refocus on another gem. The last track “Hearts of steel”, the anthem of heavy metal itself, which needs stadium to spread. Stepping back to the track’s order, I pleased to name “Play it loud” song. Perhaps, because of the first principle of rock – turning volume to the max. And for combination brief riffs and chorus. You know, for those about rock, we salute you. The last picked track is the longest one. “Cry out loud” is about eight minutes of classy heavy metal with guitar solo and deep lyrics.
The kaleidoscopic “Rattle the cage” is a good opener of the year. Fact is, the band is the same age of the heavy metal phenomenon. That doubles effect of listening act. As the band sang “heavy metal keeping you sane”, the only way to stay in this condition is keeping in mind the motto any time.
