The Last Hurrah (!!)is a project by the Norwegian Hans Petter Gundersen.
Late 2023 he released his fifth full length album under this name called “Modern Nostalgia”.

As a guideline of what to expect we received the hints 70’s English psychedelic and 60’s poppy French chansons. Believe it or not, but headquarters of Tempelores have these French chansons in the guilty pleasures corner of our collection so our interest was caught.

Upon listening the first couple of tracks it appears that the music is rather calms and disappears a bit in the background when playing. The soothing vocals of Maria Due are bringing tranquility, but the music does not really reach us. More interesting to us the part where mr Gothic Blues Tim Scott McConnell joins in. His parts are adding a deeper dimension to the songs, a layer of grim melancholy.

There are many more musicians featuring this project, Hans has them all in one line, for it never feels one track is not somehow tied to another, a complete story is told.

Altogether The Last Hurrah (!!) embraces your curiosity. Going back to these older sounds and translate them into the era of now. For a new generation to fall in love with.
