Timo de Jong is a Dutch Singer/Songwriter with a dark voice. His style goes between Country, Folk and Rock and this year he released the album “Heart At Rest”.

It does not take a long time when listening to Timo before it becomes clear that he has been listening to music from previous era’s to draw some inspiration from. The big names for sure can be heard in here, but Timo does spin it towards the era we are living in now, giving it a 2023 feel.

The man has plenty stories to tell as we received an album with 12 tracks, that have all a different vibe, but are still much connected by the sound Timo brings. For example the track “Unparalleled” has a country feel to it but with some surprising elements here and there.

Going to a more sci-fi inspired track called “Cordyceps” and you are listening to something completely different, yet you don’t have that much of a transition going on. Timo makes sure you get eased into it.
Most remarkable we found the track “Boomerang”, which sticks in mind a bit longer than the others. Can’t put our head around the reason for that, but it is not an unpleasant fact.

Altogether, Timo de Jong has a pleasant release to listen to. It is diverse and easy to listen to, but not too wild.
