Releasedate: 12-08-2022 Label: ATO Records
Amanda Shires is a singer/songwriter as well as a violinist. She released a bunch of albums already and this year we get to listen to number seven. It is called “Take It Like A Man” and it is available now.
A soft voice combined with strong words and a strong story are often a combination that makes one listen with care. Add here the drama that Amanda puts in with the instrumental surroundings and you have a winning factor in hands. On this album she shows how important it is to create the right balance of all elements in the sound. And excel in it.
Of course title track “Take It Like A Man” is one that jumps out but all ten tracks that are found on this release have the same strength. Through these tracks you get a view in what is going on in the live of Amanda Shires. Her struggles, her power, her loves and her pains.
Whether she takes a step back with the tempo or goes a bit more up-tempo the tracks are blending well. Variation in the album is there although it may not be too obvious if you have it on in the background. Which we do not recommend anyway. This is a release you need to be listened with care. That’s what it deserves. What Amanda deserves.
