Supports: Taunuszweitausend; Venue: Kulturcafe, Mainz (Germany)
By: Nina Mende
Tonight we were at Kulturcafe Mainz, a little bar or hang out place at the university in Mainz. Way late the people arrived and even later the first band began.
Taunuszweitausend was the first band of the evening. They came onstage all dressed up, changing outfits throughout their performance. The music was random but entertaining. The people had a good time. It was more like a party were some friends got together to entertain rather than a concert. Their show lasted for about half an hour.
Then it was finally time for Kleinstadthelden. The little venue had gotten very crowded. Kleinstadthelden is a pop-punk band from northern Germany founded in 2004. The audience could sing along to the songs and danced. Everyone had a good time moving along to the indie music on this Monday morning at the university campus in Mainz. Their show had started way late and ended quite late too, but the people were staying till the bitter end, chatted with their friends, danced and drank. A nice university party with Kleinstadthelden from nearby Bremen rocking for them. The band talked a lot with the audience so that it really seemed like one big family or at least good friends. A nice way to spend a Monday night. |
