In October / November 2009 Peter Visser & Carol van Dyk of Bettie Serveert were invited by Jesse Beuker and Maarten Besseling to do a project with the label “In A Cabin Wit”’ in Australia. Together with Australian musicians Russell Hopkinson (You Am I) and Matt Wicks (in Sydney), Ben Salter (The Gin Club) and Andrew Morris (in Byron Bay) they recorded eleven songs and called the collection of songs as well as the project itself “Me & Stupid”.
The new release of Me & Stupid is self titled and – as mentioned before – includes eleven tracks with the eleventh being an acoustic version of the opening track. This is an album that is definitely fun to listen to. The music brings the flair of spring into the cold winter with its colorful sound. Fast and slow songs are taking turns throughout the album. Me & Stupid have created an interesting and fresh album with lyrics out of everyday’s life that everyone can easily relate to. The songs keep on surprising the listener. The arrangements are not as smooth and even as most other music one usually gets to hear. Enjoy this brand new interesting and fresh self titled album by Me & Stupid.
