The indie-folk troubador Thomas Jonsson was 2008 listed in the British newspaper The Times as one of six acts who have taken the Swedish pop scene onwards since ABBA. 2010, the time had come to release his fourth solo album “Arctic” which is the first one to come out under his brand new musical alias I’m Kingfisher (formerly: Thomas Denver Jonsson). Thomas has recently toured with Ed Harcourt in Scandinavia (Nov ’10) and the album is due to be released in internationally in Europe. Thomas has to this date performed over 400 shows in nearly 20 countries.
This new release of Thomas Denver Jonsson aka I’m Kingfisher is now out and called “Arctic”. Twelve tracks packed together on this album. The music is typical for a singer songwriter – at least does it seem like that on first listen. Yet, this album is different from others. Somehow dramatic, full of intense emotions transported through his voice and his acoustic guitar. A brilliant atmosphere that is so extreme created by two simple elements. The soft voice seems so week but is strong in your mind, going deep and staying there. Awesome pure music, just like the arctic ice, wide like the arctic horizon. A wonderful and pure album that was definitely interesting to listen to.
