Too Tangled is a Belgium Indie band. “The Magic Got Killed” is their debut album and is out now.
A hip and sexy duel, that’s what simply all Too Tangled songs radiate. Teasing guitars the two vocals challenge each other, two musketeers fencing with a prince charming ending. It has its intense moments, but straight across it you get confronted with some more peaceful tempo’s. In the right mix these might come perfect, for others it might be needed to create an own track list to stay interested.
The silly Belgians might make you think of The White Stripes, a little experimental here and there. Obviously the stress is on the vocals, but all arrangements around it make the words come alive. The songs on the album are catchy, one sticks around even longer than the other one. “Meet Me On The Corner”, for example, is one you hear once and recognize it straight away. In general, “The Magic Got Killed” shows inconceivable exhibitions of a strong connection between the musicians. They give a great business card with it, oddities aren’t eternally unthinking which makes it an exciting release. It plays with the thrill, but doesn’t drive you too far out of the comfort zone. It remains a accessible result of indie madness.
