The Monolith Deathcult is a formation making Death Metal, based in The Netherlands. The band has been around since 2002 and are currently releasing their 7th full length album. It is called “V3 – Vernedering: Connect the Goddamn Dots”.
V3 is out, the next one in the series that the band doing. If you heard the band’s earlier material you are aware that they have a wide genre description. Meaning, industrial influences to their Death and a whole bunch of samples. The intro gives you the idea of a Karen/Trumpee/complotthinker commenting and going wild on what the band is doing, a theme that returns a couple of times.
The band is giving you a variety of sounds that catch the spotlight. Are at some point the vocals the most intriguing than the next moment you are listening to the riffs being there more prominently. And there you get to see the individual qualities of the band coming more forward. The question that rises is: did they manage to get all these together well. Does it blend together? Well, yes. In the most chaos they always seem to have it together. At first listen you may feel the band jumps from side to side through the track list, but hearing it more often you see how it all connects better.
The Monolith Deathcult has always been a band that you want to listen to a bit more often before forming an opinion so with this release it is not a surprise to be spending some more time on it. It is more actual than ever and suits well in line with the previous two in the series. A splendid result.
