Heretic is a Dutch Black Metal formation. The band have formed in 1995 and celebrates their third lustrum this year. Three studio albums, a bunch of demo’s and splits and a live album have been released and the band brings now a best of album to the world.
For those who have known the band, but never managed to get a hold on their sold out albums, here is a change. The eight tracks that have been on that records are also placed on this album. This in addition of five other tracks of other releases have been added to this album. Calling it a best of would probably be a misleading term for the release, don’t expect the best quality. It yet remains the authentic touch of old school sound. No extra or new touch to it, but keep it simple. We doubt it brings much new fans to the band, it is not the newest sound under the sun and furthermore quite simplistic, but will do well for a random listening session every once and a while. This release is one for the fans, and maybe those who would like an overview of their music. It’s ok, but there are better ones out there.
