Degreed is a Swedish formation making Melodic Rock since 2005. The band has an history of performing in contests like Emergenza and vocalist Robin participated in the Swedish edition of Idols. This year, the band comes with their debut album “Love, Life, Loss”
The band of Sweden only needs a couple of seconds to make you realize where they come from. They have the typical Swedish touch over the music. Hear a bit of Europe in them, but however AOR is all over them and that this scene is giving the guys inspiration is hearable, they have kept that little touch of their own, which brings a little unique sound to the world. Unique, but recognizable. You have the feeling you heard it before, recognize it, but it is not the same as what has been done before.
Variation is plenty to find in “Love, Life, Loss”, from typical rock songs, to sing-alongs, to a rock ballad like “By Your Side”, the band have given different sides of themselves on the album. As point of criticism, there might be a thing about the production, the band sounds very clean and polished, but maybe it could be fun to hear them in a more raw setting as well as it may come closer to what to expect in live situations. Nevertheless, good starter for Degreed.
