Nicht is a Gothic Metal band coming from France. They are quite a young band, but come with their EP debut by now. “Part 1 Catalepsy Sinks” is out now.
Interesting is, that this band picks up some doom influences next to this gothic touch and sets themselves in line with acts like Black Sun Aeon for example. Knowing this band is not much more than a year old, found their vocalist in February this year I must say Im quite impressed with these compositions. Collaborated atmospheres and tempo changes building up to high tensioned moments. Here and there some Black Metal comes in which makes it just a bit darker and colder, suits the time of the year perfectly. In these days you sit in your seat next to you heater staring outside to see the depressive weather taking advantage of the people that have to be out there, this music brings you the right atmosphere for that. A few weak points lay in the vocals. There are male vocals which can grow a bit, but are quite on the right track and there are female vocals, which luckily stay quite in the back as those do not really seem to work that well.
A second release is coming up as this is part one out of two. Fans of Black Sun Aeon should keep an eye on this formation. When the time is right for it, it is likely they meet each other even more.
