The Sleeping is an American rock band from Long Island, New York, formed in 2003. The band was founded by Cameron Keym, Sal Mignanio, and Joe Zizzo from the remains of Skycamefalling, after auditioning twenty-two potential singers, they came across Doug Robinson, former singer/guitarist of the band Stillwelle. Their music has been featured in video games including Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam for the Wii, Madden NFL 07, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (“Don’t Hold Back”), Guitar Hero: World Tour (“Bomb the World”), and FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage (“Listen Close”).
The music is great and fast with electro elements that it somehow reminds of Enter Shikari or Aiden in a way. The singer’s voice is slightly scratchy. Together with the great rock arrangements this all creates a unique and amazing sound. Catchy tunes get you tapping along. “The Big Deep” is an album with big sound and deep lyrics. #6 is a little slower with jazz and blues elements. All songs are easy to get stuck in you head, especially with the groovy bass line you can find in most of the songs. “The Big Deep” by The Sleeping is an amazing rock album by the New Yorkers. Every rock fan will definitely enjoy it.
