The British men of Zodiac Mindwarp and The Love Reaction have been quiet for some years. Who would have known that this 80’s hard rock band would be working on a new album? Now they are back with “We Are Volsung”.
The band did it before, that comeback, but no new material had been released since 2005 again so you might have thought to never see or hear of them again. Bike rockers as they are they have brought an album that lives up with the past. Catchy melodies, lyrics you pick up in no second and considering the riffing, well you’ll be alright on that side too. You can enjoy some of their humor in songs like “Don’t Touch My Guitar”, which seems one of the most outstanding songs on this album, or “Die Pretty” and that should be enough for you to remember this is band has some vanity issues. As they say they found the inspiration in Norse traditions, it is not like the whole album turned into a Viking album, but remained that hard rock touch.
The Brits had taken time for this release, it turned out to be perfect for these hard rock fans out there, giving a bit of the old days back but they showed they are not stuck in time and mingle the modernism in it as well.
