While The Chemical Brothers gained a lot of success to their big hit “Push
the button”, they worked hard on the next album. I did not know exactly
what to expect of the album “We are the night”. The album starts with
nice chill songs, so that surprised me. I expected some heavier stuff.
The song “all rights reversed” featuring the Klaxons actually reminds
me to the Rolling stones. It is because of the background vocals look a bit
like the humming in Rolling stone’s song “Paint it black”.
“Do it again” is the first single of the album and very recognizable.
This song represents the album best. It is a featuring with Ali Love.
One song which is absolutely horrible. It is called “The salmon dance”
(what a name!) and I really don’t get why this track ever made it to the
album. Fatlip (again… what a name!) is singing to us like he is singing
a child’s song. I feel a little too old for this. Maybe Fatlip was under
influence of something when he wrote this one.
The song “The pills won’t help you now” is the perfect way to
end this feel good album. The fuzzy electro beats on this album makes me want
to dance. I like it!
